A Call to Action

0

Our user base has been growing substantially since we started building Pods. Hence we would like to ask everyone with experience with- and knowledge of Pods, to help us grow Pods and our community. We are in need of:

===Writers===

Our documentation is of a never before seen World-Class quality in Open Source that you will not see anywhere else! But, on a more serious note, we know we can use a writer or two who is willing to spend time on completing our documentation and keeping it up to date.

===Forum helpers===

Actually, this one is already going on beyond our own imagination: people that help other people in our forums. Needless to say, there's always room for more people helping out as long as there are questions unanswered. As a forum helper, you will have a direct line to us for trying to solve the challenges that are out there.

===Testers===

We will publish a prerelease version of Pods 1.7.7 on our server very soon. We need you to try it out on your test environments and report any problems you encounter to us. Only then we will start getting a good oversight of what works and how you are using Pods.

If you are able to help, don't hesitate to contact one of us either by replying to this topic, or via twitter, IRC, email, etc.

I am very busy unfortunately, and need to bring in my PHP/WordPress freelancer sales quota each month. However, I would be willing to help on PHP-based questions with the API -- as in people who want to call the Plugin stuff from inside PHP. This is because that's the only way I use Pods, rather than calling through the square brackets inside a Post or Page. I'm a custom WP themer, is what I'm saying.

I haven't tried out the very latest version of Pods -- I need to get around to that on Monday because I see a lot of changes are going on.

November and December are tough months for me, but I'll try what I can.

Hey guys! I just installed and tried out your plugin yesterday and so far I really like what it offers. I'll be finishing up a Pods-integrated website soon and will share it when complete.

But there are definitely some usability and presentation issues that can be improved in the Pods admin GUI, your documentation, and the general marketing of your product (esp. this website), so I'd love to help you make this tool's GUI and its marketing even better.

Is there a user group currently working on your presentation, marketing, and GUI? Let me know–I hope to contribute in my free time.

(I run a new-media design studio called LOCUS: http://www.locusnewmedia.com )

Thanks! Cliff

I'd be willing to help out with some of the writing, forum help and testing as much as I can make time for which will be a little bit here and there.

Thanks, Jonah

Hey guys,I've been itching to really bite into PODS for a month or two now but just haven't found the time. I'm hoping to build an event listing wordpress in the next while with PODS and create some documentation for it.

I really see creation of documentation & tutorials as great resource that hasn't been tapped and I want to get in on this. I will resport back when I have things on the way.

If you need any more testers please let me know.

Also, I'd be happy to help improve the documentation, I have several projects going on before xmas which use pods quite heavily so I imagine my knowledge will be far improved by the new year.

I can certainly help improve examples & explanations.
