Tiny MCE Input Helper is not working

2

I've tried it on two sites using WordPress 3.0.1 and Pods 1.9.0 and i get this on the pods item edit screen:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function pods_tinymce() in /home... .../wp-content/plugins/pods/ui/input_fields.php(37) : eval()'d code on line 27

Hi, I had similar problem. It is not only package, but you have to install and activate also WordPress plugin (you can download it on package page).

Ah!! added the plugin and the error is now gone, but the tinymce editor is still not working. This is all i get on edit pages:

alt text

The toolbar never loads...

Looks like it's a package problem: alt text

Tested it in google chrome & firefox, both unlucky. I guess some browsers just ignore those errors or they appear at some wordpress configurations; in any way I don't understand much in JS, so i don't know how to fix it.

I know scott is currently working on the plugin so there may be a few errors. Sit tight though, hes doing some really great stuff to get it working and we will all appreciate it a ton.

Tested latest version of the TinyMCE package (1.0.1) and doesn't appear to be working. The editor shows up fine and lets me edit the content, but when I'm done and click save the page just hangs and the POD doesn't save. IE shows errors on page as follows:

'nicEditor' is undefined (admin.php | Line 315). Perhaps I installed something incorrectly?
In any case, really appreciate your effort on this Scott. This will be a great improvement once it's functional.

@jdinsmore - Do you get this error when you have a form with no Paragraph fields too?

@Fike - What field name are you using? Where are you using the form? I have not worked on getting it functional on a non-wp-admin page.

@Stefan - What field name are you using? Also, are you up to date on both Pods and Pods UI? And where are you pulling the form up at?

@scOttkclark - I don't get this error on forms with no Paragraph fields. It's only on forms that have paragraph fields that I can't save.

@scottclark - sorry, i don't remember exactly, but it was description field named 'comment' (i don't have any others). I was testing it through standard admin page or Pods UI plugin. The current version works totally fine.

@Fike - Could be WordPress overwriting your field's CSS since .comment may already be a class being used. Glad you've got it working now.

@jdinsmore - I'll work on finding a solution for you.

Curious if anyone has had luck getting the TinyMCE editor to work using this package? Installs fine and the editor shows up but I'm not able to save my POD if a paragraph field is using any of the TinyMCE input helpers.

Solved the problem I was having with saving PODS that used TinyMCE. My POD had multiple (desc) columns and I when I tested I was only using TinyMCE on one column and NiceEdit on the others. Once I switched all the columns to TinyMCE everything worked and I was able to save.

Hi there, i'm getting no joy installing the TinyMCE v1.0.1 into my wordpress. I've installed it as a plugin and activated it. Nothing is showing as available option under the Input Helper drop down menu in the Add Column section. Also tried copying and pasting the codes into the Package Manager under the Import tab. That made it half better as there is now the option for TinyMCE under the Input Helper. However, once that has been set for the text fields, the text editor isn't showing at all. please help... Many thanks – gadgetgirl Mar 7 '11 at 4:19
I should mention that i'm using Wordpress 3.1. I did try installing the plugin on a previous version of Wordpress and also no TinyMCE option under the Input Helper drop down menu. – gadgetgirl Mar 7 '11 at 4:23
I know this is a little old now, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had the issue I'm running into. I got the addon to run just fine. TinyMCE comes up and performs as expected except for one thing (the very thing I needed most to work, of course) - the button to add a link does not work. It becomes active once I've highlighted some text that I want to add a link for, but then when I click on the link button I get no response. I can click on it repeatedly and it's a dead button - no action taken. In regular wordpress pages and posts it works without issue. Anyone else run into this problem? – mbrinson Mar 15 '11 at 11:54

(sorry, reposting this as an "answer" after I realized I should have done that instead of adding it as a comment)

After using the TinyMCE package successfully for five months now, one of the sites I manage just started doing the exact same thing after I upgraded to WP 3.1.x (link button not working). I have NO idea how to fix this problem. – Ethan Apr 7 '11 at 6:13
I'm running into the same issue. – ainth Apr 26 '11 at 7:29
Ditto-- everything is looking GREAT except the link button is returning nothing. If you compare the source to that of the WP TinyMCE install, you'll see there's no code there at all to support it -- <form id="wp-link" tabindex="-1"> doesn't seem to exist. For those who have it working, can you tell me what version of WP & Pods you're using. I need to get this working soon even if it means backpedaling... You'd be my hero?! – coeurmechante Apr 28 '11 at 6:44
I'm also experiencing some issues. I got everything working perfect on my local dev platform (MAMP), but as soon as I moved it to a live server, the input MCE stopped working. I reinstalled it, but its still broken. Any help would be great!!!! I love this package! – raoulduke May 17 '11 at 1:46
